ArtVerona, the 20th-anniversary edition with 143 exhibitors from 8 countries: the art system dialogues with businesses and the local territory at the fair
Conversation and writing. This is the central theme of the 2025 edition of ArtVerona, which will celebrate its twentieth anniversary at Veronafiere from October 10 to 12.
Twenty years of dialogue between the modern and contemporary art system, the business world, and the local territory. Across two pavilions, 143 exhibitors, including galleries, publishing houses, and independent spaces, will bring to life an itinerary that blends research, market, and experimentation, with a growing international scope thanks to the participation of 20 galleries from the United States, China, Switzerland, England, France, Germany, Spain, and Lithuania.
There will be six exhibition sections, 10 awards, and 9 city-wide events involving the most evocative locations in the historic city center. More than 10,000 selected and invited collectors will attend, and over 700 will be hosted through the incoming program.
Under the artistic direction of Laura Lamonea, ArtVerona is being renewed with a focus on openness and the cross-pollination of languages. The event is organized in collaboration with ANGAMC – the National Association of Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries – and partners such as the Municipality of Verona, the Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery (GAM), the Cariverona Foundation, the University of Verona, the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona, and UniCredit, all of whom share the objective of strengthening the link between culture, economy, and innovation.
“ArtVerona has become a model for collaboration between the fair and the city,” emphasizes Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere. “This dialogue is now a structural element of how we operate: together with the Veronese institutions and our partners, we are moving forward with a project that produces cultural and economic value, nurturing a network of relationships that extends well beyond the exhibition halls.”
This edition of ArtVerona takes on even greater significance thanks to the introduction of a 5% VAT on the sale and purchase of works of art, a measure for which Veronafiere strongly supported the initiative by ANGAMC. This achievement further enhances the Italian market and provides a strong boost to the fair’s attractiveness.
“Over the years, ArtVerona has established itself as an agile and efficient structure, with an organizational solidity that has allowed many young galleries to enter the world of art fairs for the first time in a sustainable way. Furthermore, we are decisively working on an integrated cross-marketing strategy among our events: an approach that allows us to highlight ArtVerona’s artistic content in different contexts, creating virtuous synergies between diverse and complementary audiences, such as those of Vinitaly and Marmomac,” explains Adolfo Rebughini, General Manager of Veronafiere.
