Verona, 28 February 2026 – The 2026 edition of Progetto Fuoco has confirmed renewed market confidence and strong interest from industry professionals. More than 40,000 visitors attended the exhibition in Verona, with international attendance accounting for over 25% of total visitors, primarily from France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Greece, Poland and the United Kingdom.
The fifteenth edition of Progetto Fuoco, the world’s leading event dedicated to biomass-based heating systems and energy production technologies, concluded today at Veronafiere. From stoves and fireplaces to boilers, barbecues and wood- and pellet-fired cooking systems, the exhibition featured 430 brands from 38 countries worldwide.
The next edition of Progetto Fuoco, held biennially in Verona, is scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 February 2028.
The exhibition once again confirmed its status as the international benchmark event for the wood-energy supply chain. In recent days, its international development strategy reached another milestone through the agreement signed by Veronafiere and Polish exhibition organizer MTP for the launch of Progetto Fuoco Poznań, which will take place from 26 to 29 January 2027.
“The success of this edition confirms Veronafiere as the global capital of innovation in energy production from woody biomass,” said Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere. “The exhibition continues to be a privileged meeting point between the excellence of Made in Italy manufacturing and international demand, with a significant increase in the presence of foreign operators, who accounted for nearly one-third of total attendance. The agreement for the new Progetto Fuoco spin-off in Poznań in 2027 fully reflects this vision: exporting our know-how and strengthening our presence in strategic markets such as North-Eastern Europe, while supporting companies in accessing new international growth opportunities.”
Beyond the exhibition area, Progetto Fuoco 2026 further strengthened its role as a platform for innovation and dialogue among institutions, industry associations and businesses on market challenges and national and European energy and environmental regulations.
Particularly strong participation was recorded at the European Pellet Forum, organized by AIEL in cooperation with the European Pellet Council and Bioenergy Europe, which brought together Europe’s leading industry players in Italy for the first time to discuss quality certification systems and sustainable sourcing strategies.
A series of technical workshops and professional meetings were also organized in collaboration with ANFUS (the Italian National Association of Chimney Installers and Sweeps) and Assocosma, the Italian association representing stove manufacturers and industry professionals.
Looking ahead, innovation took center stage at the AI Hub, the exhibition area dedicated to the most innovative start-ups, where groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence-based solutions were showcased. These ranged from predictive combustion systems capable of dramatically reducing emissions to advanced management software designed to optimize fuel logistics.
This technological cross-fertilization demonstrates how the biomass sector is today one of the most dynamic industries, actively embracing new challenges related to energy efficiency and sustainability.
