At Fieragricola, sustainability takes the field

In the heart of Fieragricola comes ‘Green Hub’, an area that illustrates the evolution of the Veronafiere exhibition center and the entire agricultural sector toward a reduced-impact model.

The journey unfolds through three Veronafiere-branded totems, allowing visitors to discover the results of the venue’s energy redevelopment carried out in recent years. Thanks to the new photovoltaic system of over 1 MW, the fair annually produces more than 1,200,000 kWh of clean energy, 66% of which is consumed directly on-site. This operation avoids the emission of 268 tons of CO2 per year, an impact equivalent to that of a forest of 10,000 trees. The venue’s efficiency is further guaranteed by a 92% LED lighting system, which has generated a significant reduction in consumption over the last decade, while 84% of the waste produced is now sent for recycling.

The project continues with 7 Fieragricola-branded totems where the winning projects of the c, organized in collaboration with L’Informatore Agrario, are displayed. These are technological excellences put at the service of the planet, such as smart monitoring with advanced sensors to detect water and thermal stress in plants, bio-mechanics based on biodegradable lubricants for high-performance agricultural machinery, and Livestock 4.0, which uses artificial intelligence software for the control and reduction of climate-altering gases in stables.
